We live in a relational depletion! The average person today only has two real friends. What I mean by real friends are friends of commitment, not of convenience. 30% of Americans live alone! Friendships are the most critical ingredient in life! Friendships effect us regardless of our race, color or background.
How far we go in life depends on us being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving and tolerant of the weak and strong, because someday in life we will have been all of these.
There’s more misery, frustration, anxiety, and grief because of improper relationships than any other single factor. However, there’s more joy, fulfillment, and excitement through proper relationships than any other factor. Friends are like hammocks, they hold you above the hard ground of depression. Friends will multiply your strength and divide your sorrows! So instead of judging others let’s try to understand them and be a friend to them.
Remember, when people are mistreating you they’re not trying to hurt you, they’re hurting. People need love most when they deserve it the least. We can never get ahead trying to get even. And if we bend over backward trying to help others, we won’t fall on our face. Friends are our greatest asset, but to have them you have to be one.
