J. C. Penny lay dying in the hospital. The doctors didn’t expect him to make it through the night. When to his surprise he woke up the next morning to the sound of singing. He opened the window and at the church across the way, they were singing “And God will take care of you”. It changed his life. Healing and health returned.
God is always speaking but much to often we don’t recognize it. Revelation 1:7, ”Behold I come in the clouds.” Clouds in the Bible often refers to people. Many times He comes and speaks to us through others, through situations and His word. When God speaks it will always create hope. It was said of Abraham that he pitched his tent in the land of hope. In Hosea 2:15 it says, “And I will make the valley of Achor (trouble) a door of hope.”
Remember that God doesn’t lead our lives through explanations. In difficult times we search for an explanation, why did this happen? Or what did I do wrong? Explanations can never satisfy our hearts, even if we got one we would want another. Knowing this, God doesn’t give explanations, He gives promises! An explanation is like an anchor on a boat, but a promise is like a rudder and a motor, it will not only move us forward but it will do it in the right direction.
God is always speaking and moving our lives forward. We are like a bicycle, it only has balance when it’s moving forward! And so do we.
