There is a saying that trust is the greatest way to motivate others, but you can only give trust to those that are trustworthy. We all desire others to trust us, but have we developed a life of trustworthiness? And if not how?
To become trustworthy or worthy of trust we must become predictable and dependable. 2 Timothy 2:2 says, “Commit to faithful people who shall be able” it does not say to commit to those of ability and try to make them faithful.
We tend to look for the rock star, the one filled with charm, talent, and ability and then try to make them faithful. It seldom works! For us to be faithful, we need to develop integrity! Integrity is not the same as honesty. Honesty is conforming your words to reality, integrity is conforming reality to your words. If you say it, then you will do it. No excuses! With integrity, you see your word as your greatest possession and if I say I will do something, I will have to change reality to fit my word.
In the Bible, it says that God has magnified His word above His name, not His name above His word. It’s God’s word that gives His name power, and the same can be said about us, so personal integrity builds character which is the core of a life of trust!
