An investigation revealed that even in such technical lines as engineering, about 15% of financial success is due to one’s technical knowledge and about 85% is due to the skill in human engineering, which is the ability to get along and lead others. How amazing! We’ve placed such a high priority on education and degrees, yet in reality, life itself proves that advancement and promotions come from attitude and people skills!
J. D. Rockefeller said, “The ability to deal with and lead people is as purchasable a commodity as sugar or coffee.” He said, “I will pay more for that ability than any other under the sun.” A survey was conducted years ago and revealed that health is the prime interest of adults. Their second interest is people; how to understand and get along with people; how to make people like you and how to win others to your way of thinking.
All of us want to make a difference in the life of others, to believe that our life counted for something, influence is that gateway. But before we have influence, we must be influenced correctly.
