There are times when we all face great disappointments or such a hard blow that everything looks hopeless. God’s word offers guidance on how to face the darkness and move out of it.
A well-known physician made this valuable observation about patients he knew that were facing extreme situations. He said, “ I believe that people would be healthier, live longer, and do better if they could learn to handle their disappointments skillfully.”
So how can we accomplish that? Genesis 1:1-4 has the key. “In the beginning, God created the heaven and earth, and the earth was without form, and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, let there be light, and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good.”
Let’s examine these verses again. Back at the beginning of the universe, the whole earth was formless, empty, covered with darkness. This description can also remind us of our lives at times. We get overwhelmed because of what we are facing, we often can’t see the light. At times like this, our lives become chaotic, disordered, empty, and meaningless.
What can we do? Understand and allow this simple but profound truth to be absorbed into your life. Here it is. “In the beginning God… and darkness was upon the face of the deep” GOD IS ALWAYS PRESENT IN YOUR DARKNESS! So even in dark situations when at times we think He is not there, HE IS!
It’s so essential for us to move our life forward and not stay in one place. I’ve put together a series of teachings that will help you do just that.
