Nursing Clinic, Papua New Guinea

The Dr. Rob Carman Nurses Quarters is situated 6,000 feet above sea level in the rugged mountains of Papua New Guinea, 35 miles from the nearest town.

Papua New Guinea has always held a special place in Ginger’s heart. After her husband, Dr. Rob Carman, passed away in 2021, Ginger, with the support of family, friends, and churches, established and dedicated the nurse’s quarters in 2023 in his memory.

The Dr. Rob Carman Nurses Quarters is located less than 200 feet from the hospital. The building spans over 2,000 square feet and features eight bedrooms designated for an all-female staff. It is equipped with a kitchen, stove, refrigerator, two fully stocked bathrooms, and a lounge area for the nurses to relax. Each bedroom comes with a built-in bed featuring a foam mattress and a wardrobe.

This facility provides a comfortable home for the nurses, especially considering that many came from village grass houses without toilets or washing facilities prior to their nursing training. The quarters represent some of the best rural staff accommodations in the highlands of Papua New Guinea. Victory World Missions continues to support the operations of both the nurse’s quarters and the hospital.
